1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Loqi ("the App") handles user information. The App is developed and operated by Kim Fajardo (dba DevKPF).
Loqi is designed for direct conversations between nearby people. Your chosen name and optional avatar are saved locally. Your name is shared during discovery and connection; your avatar is shared during calls. The App has no accounts, analytics SDKs, advertising trackers, or cloud audio relay.
2. Information We Collect
The developer does not receive your in-app profile or call audio.
No account data
Loqi does not require registration, login, or any form of account creation.
Local profile information
Your display name and optional avatar are stored on your device. Your name is shared with nearby Loqi peers during discovery and connection, before a call begins. If you choose a photo using the system photo picker, that avatar is shared with your conversation partner during the call. These are not uploaded to a developer-operated server.
No audio recording
Audio is processed temporarily for real-time streaming and playback between the two phones. The App does not save audio recordings or send call audio to a server.
No usage analytics
The App does not include analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs that report usage data to the developer.
No cookies or tracking
The App does not use cookies, device fingerprinting, advertising identifiers, or similar tracking technologies.
Website waitlist
If you join the waitlist on our website, we collect the email address you enter. We use it only to tell you when Loqi is available. It is stored with Resend, our email service provider. The App itself never sends us your email address. To be removed, use the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or contact support@devkpf.com.
3. How the App Works
Loqi creates a direct peer-to-peer connection between two nearby iPhones using Bluetooth and peer-to-peer Wi-Fi. Once paired, audio captured from the microphone on one device is streamed directly to the paired device and played through connected Bluetooth headphones.
Conversations do not use a cloud relay. The App does not save a call history. Temporary partner information is cleared when you return to the home screen after a call, while your own local profile remains available for future calls.
During a call, a Live Activity may show the partner's name, avatar, and call status on the Lock Screen or Dynamic Island. You can manage Live Activities in iOS Settings.
4. Permissions
Loqi asks for system permissions only when they are needed to provide real-time communication features.
These permissions are used solely for the real-time communication features described above. Denying a required permission can prevent discovery or calls.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
Your display name is shared with nearby Loqi peers during discovery and connection. Your voice and optional avatar are shared with your conversation partner during the call. The App does not use third-party analytics or advertising services.
We do not sell, rent, or trade user information.
6. Data Retention
The App does not retain audio recordings or a call history. Your name and avatar remain in local app storage until changed or the App is deleted. If you email support, your message and contact details are used to respond to your request. Waitlist email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
7. Children's Privacy
Loqi has no parental controls or age-verification features. The local profile and peer-to-peer sharing described above apply to all users. Contact us with privacy questions or concerns.
8. Security
Loqi has no developer-operated user database or audio storage. Peer-to-peer connections are encrypted using Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework encryption.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. You should check this page periodically for updates.
