Supported devices
Both iPhones need Ultra Wideband for precise Nearby Interaction. These models have the required hardware:

iPhone 16e, iPhone 17e, all iPhone SE models, and iPhones older than iPhone 11 don’t have the required hardware. An iOS update can’t add it.
Loqi checks precise Nearby Interaction support on your phone before connecting. Ultra Wideband availability also depends on your country or region.

iOS compatibility
Loqi requires iOS 17 or later. Install the latest iOS available for your supported iPhone, and keep Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled.
Apple’s current major release is iOS 27. The minimum version for Loqi remains iOS 17; newer software doesn’t replace the device requirements above.
Checked September 27, 2026 against Apple’s software release information. Loqi’s physical-device verification on iOS 27 is still pending.
Start a conversation
Get your phones ready.
Use two supported iPhones running iOS 17 or later, with Bluetooth headphones connected to each. Keep Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled.
Open Loqi.
Open Loqi on both phones, choose your names, and allow Microphone, Bluetooth, Local Network, and Nearby Interaction when prompted. Check that the app's connection requirements are ready.
Bring your phones close.
Tap Start on both phones and bring them close together. Keep Loqi open until the call connects.
Keep talking.
Use the call screen to mute or end the conversation. Keep both people nearby and their headphones connected.
